CEO of Bearden Education Technology Consulting
Susan M. Bearden, CETL is a strategic, growth-oriented education technology leader who approaches IT from an educator mindset. A former teacher and K12 IT leader, she is currently the CEO of Bearden Education Technology Consulting and is passionate about facilitating best practices in education technology in support of innovative teaching and learning. She co-authored the newly released 2024 update to the National Educational Technology Plan from the U.S. Department of Education. She previously served as the Director of Digital Programs for InnovateEDU, where she led Project Unicorn, a coalition of 18 organizations working to support data interoperability in education. She has also served as the Chief Innovation Officer for CoSN and as a Senior Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Education Technology. The author of “Digital Citizenship: A Community-Based Approach,” she was named one of EdTech K12 Magazine’s Top 30 K12 IT Influencers for 2022.
