Roxanna Bautista Villaseñor is a Superintendent, system builder, and long-time advocate for equity in public education.
With 25 years across TK–12, Roxanna has led at every level, from Math and Science teacher to site administrator, Executive Director, Assistant Superintendent, and now Superintendent of River Charter Schools. She has founded a California public charter school and worked extensively within traditional public systems, always with a focus on strengthening leadership, building sustainable systems, and removing barriers that hold students and educators back.
Beyond her district work, Roxanna serves on a Mentor Leadership Committee supporting site and district administrators with the guidance, resources, and confidence needed to lead well. She also serves as a Director at Large for ACSA, contributing to statewide conversations around equitable and effective education.
At the heart of her work is a clear belief: when educators are supported thoughtfully, students thrive. Outside of education leadership, Roxanna is a writer at heart, continually developing her voice through creative writing and reflection.
