Erin Mote

Erin Mote is the CEO and Founder of InnovateEDU, a national nonprofit at the forefront of designing equitable, AI-integrated learning ecosystems. A recognized leader in education technology, AI policy, and systems-level innovation, Erin drives the conversation around what it means to responsibly navigate an arrival technology, one that doesn’t fit into existing structures but fundamentally reorders them.

Erin leads both national and international work on AI literacy, serving on advisory boards and task forces that shape how educators, policymakers, and communities engage with artificial intelligence. She is the architect behind National AI Literacy Day (March 27th), a movement uniting over 100 supporting partners and 80+ events nationwide to build foundational AI literacy, not just in classrooms, but in communities. The initiative calls in parents, students, educators, and policymakers with free curriculum, professional development, and year-round resources through AILiteracyday.org.

Her work sits at the intersection of innovation, equity, and trust. From surfacing selection bias in magnet program placements using AI, to optimizing district transportation systems, to advancing universal dyslexia screening tools, Erin champions practical, equity-centered applications that expand opportunity and access for all learners. She operates as what she calls a “scout”, navigating between the doomers and the accelerationists, managing both the promise and the peril of AI with moral clarity and strategic precision.

Erin’s driving belief is simple and urgent: do something. Because we failed social media. We cannot fail AI.
