Dr. Rachel Edoho-Eket

Dr. Rachel Edoho-Eket is a nationally recognised education leader, keynote speaker, and two-time bestselling author whose work centres on strengthening school leadership, elevating educator practice, and building school cultures where adults and students thrive.

As President of the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals, Dr. Edoho-Eket is a leading voice for site-based leaders across the state and beyond. She is widely respected for her ability to translate big leadership ideas into practical, real-world strategies that principals and leadership teams can implement immediately. Her approach is grounded in a deep belief that leadership is service, that trust is non-negotiable, and that people always come before programmes.

Dr. Edoho-Eket began her career in the classroom, teaching kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, and she continues to champion the unique lens that early childhood educators bring to leadership. That pathway shaped her first book, The Principal’s Journey: Navigating the Path to School Leadership, written to serve as a mentor-in-print for aspiring leaders who want clarity on the role, the realities, and the mindset required to lead schools effectively.

Her second book, Relational Intelligence: The Key to Exceptional School Leadership (co-authored with Dr. Brad Johnson), focuses on the behaviours that drive teacher and staff retention, with an emphasis on building trust, strengthening communication, and creating the conditions where educators choose to stay, grow, and lead.

A forward-thinking leader, Dr. Edoho-Eket is also actively engaged in the evolving conversation around AI in education, advocating for responsible integration that protects student privacy, strengthens digital citizenship, and empowers students to be producers, not just consumers, of technology. Her work keeps one principle at the centre: the human dimension of learning and leadership must never be lost, even as systems adapt to rapid change.
