Cody Pruitt is a dynamic leader in Advanced Academics who is redefining what equity and excellence look like in today’s classrooms. As Advanced Academics Coordinator for Austin Independent School District, he guides AP and IB programming with a vision that every student—regardless of background—deserves access to rigorous learning pathways.
A veteran educator, Cody’s journey began in small-district high schools where he served as a Gifted/Talented coordinator. With limited resources but limitless determination, he created innovative approaches to support gifted learners and expand opportunities where few existed. His teaching experience is as diverse as his perspective—ranging from AP Seminar and AP Literature to Journalism, Yearbook, and Audio/Video Production—each reinforcing his belief that student voice, creativity, and challenge go hand in hand.
