Blake Haygood is a seasoned leader in gifted and advanced academics with nearly two decades dedicated to reimagining how schools identify, nurture, and support gifted learners. As Advanced Academics Coordinator for Austin ISD, he leads efforts to expand access, strengthen curriculum, and build systems that honor the unique needs of advanced students across all backgrounds.
Blake’s career spans classroom teaching, district leadership, curriculum design, and nonprofit service, all centered on one mission: ensuring that gifted education is equitable, responsive, and deeply human. He is an active voice in statewide and national conversations, serving on multiple boards and advocacy groups, and through his work with Haygood Learning, he continues to provide resources that empower educators and families alike.
At the core of his work is a belief that giftedness is not elitist—it is universal. Blake is committed to breaking down myths, building up opportunities, and creating pathways for gifted learners to thrive both in school and in life.
